Green Living
Everyday we are faced with choices that impact our environment and the world around us.  The challenge before us is how to make positive changes in our collective behavior so that we can reduce the impact that our industrialized society is having on our planet.  In our quest, we have found many useful, easy and effective tips on how to this. 

Here is a list of things we are committed to doing in our own lives to help.  These ideas have come from a variety of sources, the most useful of which we have provided links to below.

1. Reduce home energy use - switch to compact fluorescent bulbs and use a rack to dry the laundry instead of using the dryer. 
2. Get rid of junk mail - call all the companies that send catalogues and request that our names be removed from their mailing list.
3. Ditch the car - whenever possible, walk, bike or use public transit to get to where we need to go.
4. Clean green - switch to "green" laundry and household cleaning agents.
5. Stay informed - watch An Inconvenient Truth and get our friends to see it too.
6. Stop using pesticides - from food to clothing to shampoo, using organic products help keep harmful pesticides from being used.
7. Green Up – contact your Power Company and ask about purchasing Green Power.
8. Freecycle - use recycling clubs or thrift stores to recycle your used, but still useful goods.
9. Reduce packaging waste - buy products that use less packaging.
10. Eat your veggies - have a meatless day at least once a week to conserve water, land and energy resources.
